Michigan Cricket Academy’s team has flown out of the snowy upper Midwest to spend the MLK Day weekend in Miramar, Florida, at the Florida Cricket Academy Tournament. In fact, Chicagoans form the majority of the squad, with only two MCA regulars participating — Ani Mayasandra and Gordon Makin. Last year, MCA were runners up in Florida, losing very narrowly to the hosts. This year’s team is less experienced, and will do well to match last year’s performance, but as the team gathered at its Miami hotel on Thursday spirits were high. On Friday the MCA XI will play a strong New York team, before facing the hosts on Saturday, and concluding the tournament with a match against Cricket Academy USA. The team, coached by Ganesh Iyer and managed by Ashish Ahuja, is as follows:
Vaibhav Ganesh (Captain)
Akhil Sridher (WK)
Ani Mayasandra
Gordon Makin
Monit Khandwala
Harshal Vyas
Arjun Ahuja
Dishank Sheth
Rahul Kosgi
Viraj Sehgal
Arnav Sridher
