MCA Runners-up in FCA Tournament

MCA completed a very satisfactory weekend with a very narrow loss to the hosts on Sunday, MCA captain Kishan Patel collecting the Best Bowler award, and the MCA team going home with the runners-up trophy.

MCA, batting first, scored 186 a.o. (Dhwanit Patel 34, Akhil Sridher 33, Jay Nirban 20); when FCA’s powerful opening batsman Steven Taylor, scorer of double centuries in both previous matches, raced to a fifty in an opening stand of 77 in seven overs, things looked tough for MCA, but Zakaria Ahmed had him caught by Dhwanit Patel for 51, and MCA reined in the hosts, Ani Mayasandra’s left-arm spin again proving very economical, as well as destructive (4-1-10-4).  FCA teetered on the brink of defeat, but Ryan Ramnarine, batting with a broken wrist, hit a splendid one-handed six to win the match for the hosts by just one wicket.
