Practice: For senior players, Motown-MCA practice most Thursdays, 6 pm, Lyon Oaks.
High Performance Coaching: Dr V. V. Giri will hold a second series of High Performance Coaching sessions at Lyon Oaks this year, after the success of his series in 2011. Times of the sessions are posted on the MCA web site.
Youth Cricket Coaching Camp: Friday evenings in July and August, Lyon Oaks, starting at 6 pm.
League Team: Joint team with Motown Cricket Club, league matches most Saturdays in the MichCA 40-overs league. For information on joining the squad, contact MCA Information Director, Michael Makin (mlmakin@umich.edu).
DETAILS
MCA holds weekly practices from May until September at the cricket ground in Lyon Oaks Park, Wixom (52221 Pontiac Trail, Wixom, MI 48993-1917). Newcomers, including novices, are always welcome. Admission to the park requires the purchase of an Oakland Parks motor vehicle permit.
For part of the summer, MCA’s High-Performance Coach will run special coaching sessions for select players (usually on Thursdays at 4 pm, but check the web site for weekly details) . For details, see the posts for July 2012 on the home page.
MCA’s most committed players are eligible for selection to play for the Motgown- MCA joint team in the MichCA 40-overs league, with fixtures usually on Saturdays during the summer. Youth players join senior players in matches against some of Michigan’s best cricketers. MCA aims to combine youth development with competitiveness. See posts for match reports.
MCA has sent participants annually to the CCA tournaments in Northern California, and has participated in the national inter-regional tournaments. For details of this years plans, please contact MCA.
