USA U-15s Defeat Canada by 138 Runs, with Two MCA Players in Team

Today at Assiniboine Park, Winnipeg, the USA U-15s, with MCA’s Rohit Mogalayapalli and Gordon Makin in the team, easily defended a total of 201/5 off 40 overs against hosts Canada. Captain Dave Parikh made 67 n.o. off 70 balls and Vibhav Altekar (both of CCA) scored 50 off 58 balls. Rohit and Gordon, batting down the order at six and seven, made 18 off 27 balls and 2 not out off 1 ball, respectively. The Canadian reply struggled from the start, with Dave Parikh bowling an excellent line and length to take 4/6 in 8 overs, including two wickets in two balls; Rutvij Bhise and Annirudh Srinivas, also both of CCA, took two wickets each, and there were two runouts. Rohit took a catch, and Gordon took two behind the stumps and contributed to a run-out, as Canada were all-out for 63 in 23 overs.

Tomorrow is a rest day for the Americans, who return to action against Bermuda on 24 August. So far, the only over-by-over text commentary available seems to have been from the Winnipeg club Cosmos C.C. Match reports and score cards have been posted after the matches on DreamCricket.
