MCA XI Runners-up in National Collegiate Championship

MCA’s squad of high-schoolers, undergraduates, and three coaches finished last weekend as runners-up to a very strong Michigan U-25 team in MichCA’s National Collegiate Cricket Championship. The MCA XI, captained by Kishan Patel, and coached by MCA joint head coaches Shyam Mayasandra and Vasanth Krishnaswami, with assistance from regular MCA guest player Kashif Akhtar, was victorious on Saturday against MSU’s graduate students in its second group match, and then, in the semi-final defeated the University of Michigan XI’s graduate students for the second time in two weeks, before falling at the last hurdle to the Michigan U-25s on Sunday. Three wins out of four for the youngest team in the tournament must be considered a very significant success, and the performance bodes well for next season.

MCA hopes to post further details of last weekend’s matches as soon as possible.
